If you are not counting your blessings or cultivating an attitude of happy gratitude through out the year; you might miss seeing the opportunities available to make your dreams come true. Our individual dreams and the American dream comes from God and God has the power to make them manifest. The Spirit of '76 was the Holy Spirit and is our true north.

Here's something to be very thankful for. The American Psychiatric Association Assembly, a pivotal medical organization in the United States, has issued a unanimous statement in support of the decriminalization and medical use of marijuana. "I've long believed the drug war couldn’t end so long as organized Medicine provided it with even tacit support," muses Dr.Tom O'Connell. Could the APA's stunning reversal be the beginning of the end of the drug war?! Oh, let it be, let it be!

The Dutch government said recently it wants cannabis registered as regular medicine and wants to promote cannabis-based medicine development.

Thousands will be eternally grateful to you. Sign the StoptheDrugWar.org online petition, "Save Bush's Legacy by Persuading Him to Pardon Thousands of Nonviolent Drug Offenders and Not Be a Hypocrite." His decision to spare Scooter Libby prison time has ignited a national debate on sentencing and incarceration.

Texas has passed $3 Billion in bonds for cancer research. Here's an example of Uncle Sam at his most beastly!

In a cannabis study on cancer conducted in 1974, researchers at the Medical College of Virginia, funded by the National Institute of Health to find evidence that marijuana damages the immune system, instead found that THC slowed the growth of three kinds of cancer in mice - lung and breast cancer, and a virus-induced leukemia. The Drug Enforcement Agency shut down that study and buried that life saving information. In 2000, it was validated again when researchers in Madrid announced they had destroyed incurable brain tumors in rats by injecting them with THC, the active ingredient in cannabis.

Some scientists speculate that cannabinoids play a protective role in the brain, slowing the rate of disease. Most recently a study has shown THC is far more effective than available Alzheimer's drugs to treat symptoms and halt the disease's progression. Cannabis medicines were once the "drugs of choice" in the United States. Until they were declared illegal, they had been used in about 30 prescription medicines for a 100 specific medical problems.

Big pharmacy lobbyist have paid for road blocks to cannabis research. For all these decades, the medical profession has been treating cancer patients to killer cocktails of antiangiogenesis drugs that cut off the blood supply to tumors while also killing healthy cells! Ifosfamide destroys the patients bladder and kidneys. And as a last hope treatment, thaledomide, the sleeping pill that produced clubfeet and webbed fingers will also starve tumors. These poison drip cocktails come with side effects you can count on to make life no longer worth living. Radiation is another poisonous, "cure" and surgery often triggers the cancer to spread. We all know someone who has suffered these hellish treatments.

This is the biggest scandal, much bigger than sex in the oval office! Yet where are the headlines? Where is the outrage in major news media? Are they like Mexican journalist, afraid to tell truth to power? Fear losing their jobs not their lives, so far at least.

Ooooops! Who spilled the beans? SCIENTISTS and PATIENTS all over the world, that's who! The truth is out and spreading like wildfire! It will not be suppressed, until every household knows the clamor, the swelling protest, exposing dark, dirty secrets of heinous crimes against humanity! Will any of these cancer research dollars be used to investigate THC cancer treatment ? Write your TX Congress Critters and the Governor.

Since the year 2000, more than 200,000 students have lost college aid just because they have drug convictions. A drug conviction hurts those students most in need and it is adding insult to injury to take away student aid for a safer choice. The House of Representatives is voting on a bill that would restore financial aid to students with drug convictions. Send a letter: Call Congress TODAY! (202) 224-3121.

Our veterans and heroes, who fought or died for freedom and for making this world a better place will have done so in vain; if the American dream of self-government free of tyranny and big government oppression dies.

The Constitution expressly establishes the United States as a constitutionally limited republic and not a direct democracy. Our Founding Fathers wanted to protect certain fundamental freedoms, like freedom of speech, against the changing whims of popular opinion.

Correspondingly, they created the electoral college to guard against majority tyranny in federal elections. The electoral college system represents a reminder that pure democracy or mob rule is the opposite of liberty. Presidents are to be elected by the 50 states rather than the people directly, to ensure that sparsely populated states had a voice in national elections. They blended electoral college votes between U.S. House seats, which are based on population, and U.S. Senate seats accorded equally to each state with the goal of creating a balance between majority will and majority tyranny.

Special interest money has a huge influence on our resident bully, Uncle Sam, and it has a tremendous effect on both foreign and domestic policy. Members of Congress, without ethics, effectively sell their votes to those who can give them money and keep them in office. The best, true solution to this is to return to constitutional or small government and a free market or not trying to control our economy.

Our federal government intended to operate as a very limited constitutional republic, has become a virtually socialist leviathan that redistributes trillions of dollars. The states act as mere glorified federal counties carrying out commands from big bully Uncle Sam. With him cut down to size it will be far easier to influence and hold accountable state or local officials and charities.

Our founders knew big government would always mean a gang of evil doers. Support Ron Paul's "American Freedom Agenda Act of 2007." It will restore basic Constitutional protections and empower Americans to support human rights, democracy, and the rule of law in the world at large. It frees us from the stench of hypocrisy and will protect Americans and our troops from retaliation by foreign powers for Uncle Sam's transgressions of America's most hallowed principles.

Drug abuse is a disease. Compassionate treatment is the answer. How can drug warriors look themselves in the mirror when across the US last year 40% of the murders, almost 60% of the rapes and about half of the aggravated assaults went unsolved? The horrendous cumulative effect of this is becoming obvious. While we police individual recreational and medicinal use of drugs; murderers and violent sexual predators roam free.

Save the American Dream of self-government; free of tyranny and oppression! Construct science based drug policies about saving and rehabilitating instead of ruining lives. Get tough on violent crime! Restore justice! Warriors can earn their pay and get their adrenaline rush catching perpetrators of violence.

There is still time to sign up for The International Drug Policy Reform Conference, the world's principal gathering of people who believe the war on drugs is doing more harm than good. No better opportunity exists to learn about drug policy and to plan and mobilize for reform. This year's conference will be held December 5-8 at the Astor Crowne Plaza in the legendary French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana. Hope to see you there!

Happy Thanksgiving!
