If you have your ear to the ground, Kemosabe, you have heard the rumblings of big changes for the better!! We, the virtuous self-governors of the world are truth seekers and believe in ourselves, our talents and abilities to create a world of abundance without tyranny and oppression. Jesus was a great liberator and taught self-government, the defining principle of American government. Our Founding documents are based on great spiritual principles that Christians and many other faiths hold dear. The Holy Spirit lives in all of us, whether we acknowledge it or not! It is the part of us that is eternal and strives for good over evil. We are seekers of truth and justice, as are all liberty lovers worldwide. That spirit unites us. It is the Holy Spirit and our True North. Many leaders are outright servants of tyranny; good at ignoring the rule of law, history and science while catering to the needs of special interests but awful bad at determining what is best or safer for the individual or society.

All who follow a code of ethics or principles are self-governors. Our system is meant to protect the self-governors from those without ethics and principles; perpetrators of fraud, rape and violence. The state does not run the affairs of people in a free society. It upholds justice between people who conduct their own affairs.

A declaration is an affirmation. Independence means self-government. They could have called it, The Affirmation of Self-government. However I am sure we can all agree, The Declaration of Independence, sounds way more cool! Our founding document, announces and asserts our affirmation of self-government; freedom and liberty for all.

A careful study of our Founders shows: they were not perfect, as none of us are. What we cherish is the work they produced. Our Declaration of Independence is the most important of all our documents. Along with the Magna Carta and the Bill of Rights, it is one of the three greatest documents of the English-speaking world. The fifty-six Signers mutually pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor in the cause of liberty. The Declaration was inspired by a higher purpose for humanity. No other patriotic document has ever produced such successful, beneficial and far-reaching results. Our Constitution and other Founding documents support the idea of government being a service organization only needed for protecting US from violence and fraud.

The latest episode of BOOKD covers Michelle Alexander's best-selling book, The New Jim Crow, Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness.

One in 106 whites are incarcerated. One in 36 Hispanics and one in 15 blacks are incarcerated! Prohibition is a policy used by racists to fulfill their agenda. It is a great shame on US; we incarcerate more of our people than any other nation in the world! With only 5% of the world's population we lock up 25% of the world's prisoners that computes to more than one out of every 100 adults being incarcerated and one in every 71 adults in Texas! How can we keep calling ourselves, "the land of the free," if we don't turn this around?

The New Jim Crow reveals the hidden problems triggered by the war on drugs and issues surrounding mass incarceration. Michelle Alexander has become a leading voice educating social commentators, policy makers, and politicians about a glaring wrong that we have been living with and invigorating activists across the country.

"2012 has been quite an amazing year for drug policy reform and events are accelerating at breakneck pace after the historic marijuana legalization victories in Colorado and Washington," raves Jeffrey Dhywood, investigative writer and author of “World War D – The Case against prohibitionism, roadmap to controlled re-legalization.”

The domino effect has started in the US, in Latin America and the rest of the world. A major global initiative was launched last December, with the support of presidents Santos of Colombia and Perez Molina of Guatemala, as well as a dozen of ex-heads of states including Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.

Morally bankrupt financiers, empire builders and leaders in their pockets make capitalism abhorrent with their predatory capitalism. Predatory capitalism due to big government interference and protection destroys people, benign or ethical capitalism, America's founders' vision of the free market, creates a world of abundance for all.

It's enough to make a preacher cuss! Morally bankrupt predatory capitalists abound in favor of the drug war's continuance.

Ex-DEA Chief Lobbying Holder to Nullify Marijuana Legalization Owns Piss Testing Company. The only beneficiaries of drug testing are these big drug warriors reaping a fortune on the urine testing laws they wrote. "Bensinger and his cohorts in the drug testing industry represent just one of the many industries that are lobbying to keep the failed war on drugs alive, and they're willing to subvert democracy and the Constitution to do it."

Drug testing is useless except as a money making scheme. It is another big waste of our law enforcement dollars, better spent protecting us from violence and fraud. Drivers aren't high but still busted for DUI! "How could a person who is not high get busted for DUI? It happens when science meets politics" or politicians are ignorant of science.

Drug testing is morally bankrupt and another ludicrous way to rip us off. THC can linger in the body for a month or longer and was found in the urine of a chronic consumer, post-abstinence for 110 days! (Daldrup et al., 1988) Read more about this from Paul Armentano, Deputy Director NORML. Drug testing wouldn't last long if it showed a driver to be drunk, who two weeks ago, had a few beers. DUI was never supposed to be about filling government coffers with money/fines, was it? DUI enforced by impairment tests would be fair and get problem drivers off the road as the law is intended.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren chastises US drug war tactics at a recent US Senate Hearing about the HSBC money laundering scandal.. "I’ll just say here if you’re caught with an ounce of cocaine the chances are good you are going to go to jail. If it happens repeatedly you may go to jail for the rest of your life. But evidently if you launder nearly one billion dollars for drug cartels and violate our international sanctions your company pays a fine and you go home and sleep in your own bed at night - every single individual associated with this. I think that’s just fundamentally wrong," noted the Senator from Massachusetts.

The UN's International Narcotics Control Board also appealed to Holder to nullify the will of the voters in Wash. & Colo. because allowing them to legalize pot is against global drug treaties.

It only took us thirteen years to realize that Prohibition was not the answer with alcohol. Prisons propagate crime, violence and sexual deviance. Putting nonviolent drug offenders in this breeding ground is a madness we have continued for over 75 years now. Shame on US!

Although we rank third nationally in wrongful convictions, Texas is the most generous state monetarily, when it comes to showing remorse for locking up the wrong person. We have paid $65 million in compensation to 89 wrongfully convicted and imprisoned people since 1992. The Innocence Project is currently reviewing 14 more claims of false conviction.

What about all the morally bankrupt, wrongful convictions for making a safer health choice, cannabis or marijuana, compared to other medicinal/social drugs?

Animal and human mother's milk are packed full of cannabinoids. Breast milk is the largest natural source of cannabinoids in the world except for the cannabis plant. The true facts are cannabis plants and our bodies have inborn occurring endocannabinoids or signaling molecules that activate cannabinoid receptors within our brains. Endocannabinoids are essential to nurturing new life. Some scientists speculate that cannabinoids play a protective role in the brain, slowing the rate of disease.

The wrongful conviction cases involving mostly Tulia's African American population (plus a couple of Latin Americans) used tainted drug convictions based on fabricated evidence. A similar dismissed case in Hearne demonstrates how a morally bankrupt policy predominantly attracts those to law enforcement and our courts who want to milk a corrupt system for all it is worth to extend their agenda. Officials involved in wrongful convictions should face jail time not mere public censure. More ethical policy will attract people to law enforcement to make our system run with the milk of human kindness and save tax dollars.

The tobacco, alcohol and prescription drug gangs cause more death annually than all illicit drugs!

Real murderers and other violent predators roam free, when we wrongfully convict and while drug warriors police nonviolent adult social, medicinal and religious drug use. Real warriors get their adrenaline rush making us all safer, catching violent rapist and killers! Save lives instead of ruining them. Get tough on violent crime!

It is down right sinister, a crime against humanity, for the medicinal uses of cannabis to be suppressed. Big business and big government have a scandalous mutually beneficial love affair going on! That's the opposite of a free market. The Constitution doesn't authorize Congress to subsidize industries or grant special favors to particular businesses, LIKE BIG PHARMA.

The truth is out and spreading like wildfire! Cannabis cures cancer! This truth will not be suppressed, until every household knows the clamor, the swelling protest, exposing dark, dirty secrets of heinous crimes against humanity!

It is morally bankrupt to punish nonviolent adults for making a safer health choice, cannabis or marijuana, compared to other medicinal/social drugs. Less than 1% of US are actually addicted to anything illegal. Treatment is seven times cheaper than prison.

There is no force for change on this planet more potent than one based on a moral issue. Moral issues cross all the boundaries of faith, political philosophy or race in which we may differ. The most powerful movement this planet has ever seen, a ground swell ethical revolution around the world is in progress!

The Love revolution or global political awakening is one of the greatest cultural shifts in the history of mankind. This game changer will soon reach the tipping point, as more of us refuse to remain neutral in these times of great moral conflict and work for positive change!
