We can see where our laws are causing more harm than good and change accordingly; with modern unbiased, science based statistical reporting. More democracy leads to less internal violence and democide, empirical statistical evidence strongly shows. Democide is a term coined by political scientist R. J. Rummel in his book, DEATH by GOVERNMENT to describe "the murder of any person or people by a government, including genocide, politicide and mass murder."

Atlanta police killed 92-year-old Kathryn Johnston in a botched drug raid not long ago and the carnage continues. An Ohio SWAT team, serving an ordinary drug search warrant, shot and killed an innocent woman! They Killed Tarika Wilson and shot her one-year-old son. The boy lost at least one of his fingers and two dogs were shot as well.

In comparison to the carnage of innocents, only five American drug enforcement officers died last year. Yet police repeatedly warn that they face grave danger from drug dealers, necessitating the resort to SWAT-style policing on routine drug raids.

How can drug warriors look themselves in the mirror after these botched raids? How can they carry on considering that across the US last year 40% of the murders, almost 60% of the rapes and about half of the aggravated assaults went unsolved? The horrendous cumulative effect of this is becoming obvious. While we police individual recreational and medicinal use of drugs; murderers and violent sexual predators roam free.

Drug abuse is a disease. Compassionate treatment is the answer. Prohibition triggers violence in our streets and along our borders. It
incites terrorists by forcing senseless policy on other countries. It fuels
corruption of public officials and injustice in our courts. The statistics
reveal that racism is epidemic in the drug war.

"Ahh, cancer. One learns so much from being diagnosed with a death-sentence disease," bemoans Diana Wagman. The author and professor at Cal State Long Beach shares, "What my cancer taught me about marijuana. Why I – and a surprising number my friends – smoke pot "

It is down right sinister, a crime against humanity, for the medicinal uses of cannabis to be suppressed. Some scientific researchers speculate that cannabinoids play a protective role in the brain, slowing the rate of disease. Ooooops! Who spilled the beans? Scientists and patients all over the world, that's who! Ever wonder why doctors call what they do "practice"?

Overdose prevention like New Mexico's 911 Good Samaritan law will save lives. It helps protect people who are witnessing an overdose from drug possession charges if they call emergency services. Drug Policy Alliance will be working in several other states to pass similar lifesaving legislation.

Allegations of vote fraud in the Live Free or Die state, New Hampshire are growing. Are concerns of the fraud and data manipulation viable?

If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress? Probably, one thing is for certain the con is on since No Child Left Behind Turns Six. "It's the NCLB's birthday, and you can cry if you want to. And if you have kids in school, or about to enter school, you might want to. Why? Because federal policy is primarily designed to do little more than let politicians show that they 'care,' and let the education establishment and its powerful lobbyists get as much money -- and as little accountability -- as possible."

The word, 'Politics' really describes the process: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'blood sucking creatures'. Let's resolve to right the wrongs that exist today by focusing on how much better off each individual American will be in a truly free society with a very small government. Return to our founders bright idea of America, a shining light of liberty for the world, leading by example.

"A Grand Solar Proposal" in Scientific American offers a great way to end our dependency on fossil fuels and a smart place to use the money saved by ending drug prohibition.
